DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 36 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) The particles comprised nylon 11 [25587-80-8], nylon 66 [32131-17-2], poly(p-acetoxybenzoic acid) [38356-38-6], or a similar polymer contg. encapsulated TiO2, Ba titanate [12047-27-7], CuI, cristobalite, or a similar material. The particles are useful as pigmenting agents, elec. conducting materials, slow-release pesticide compns., etc. Thus, a mixt. of aliph. hydrocarbons (d. 170-210.degree.) 1787, 11-aminoundecanoic acid 314, TiO2 314, and dispersant 85 g was milled to give 1.mu. particles and refluxed with sepn. of water to prep. 0.3-1.5.mu. particles of nylon 11 contg. TiO2. The dispersant was a 37% soln. (in aliph. hydrocarbons) of a copolymer [52007-21-3] prepd. by the copolymn. of a Et acrylate-methacrylic acid mixt. with a reaction product of glycidyl methacrylate and poly(12-hydroxystearic acid).
