- The influence of pesticides on the occurrence of VA mycorrhizae
- The influence of pesticides on the occurrence of VA mycorrhizae. Dehne, H. W. (Inst. Pflanzenkrankh. Pflanzenschutz, Univ. Hannover, Hannover D-3000/21, Fed. Rep. Ger.). Meded. Fac. Landbouwwet., Rijksuniv. Gent, 51(2A), 465-75 (German) 1986. CODEN: MFLRA3. ISSN: 0368-9697. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) In greenhouse and field expts., the effects were studied of different pesticides on the development of vesicular-arbuscular (VA) mycorrhiza in various host plants. The application of unspecific fungicides inhibited the formation of the symbiosis, whereas a selective compd., e.g., propamocarb-HCl [25606-41-1], did not affect the endophyte. Leaf application of fungicides in recommended dosage did not influence the development of the symbiosis. Systemic chems., e.g., Thidiazuron (I) [51707-55-2] or ethylene generators, altered the physiol. of the host plant and led to an increased formation of mycorrhiza. This stimulation of natural mycorrhization by the application of appropriate compds. could also be found under field conditions. The preservation of physiol. active assimilation surfaces by powdery mildew control stimulated the formation of mycorrhiza in winter wheat and led to intensified root growth and improved root health. In field expts., pos. correlations could be found between the development of mycorrhiza, root health, and yield.
- Phytophthora and Pythium root rot of greenhouse carnation
- Phytophthora and Pythium root rot of greenhouse carnation. Susceptibility of varieties and chemical means of control. Mirkova, E.In this study, 57837-19-1 and 25606-41-1 are also used.; Vanev, S. (Inst. Plant Protect., Kostinbrod, Bulg.). Pochvozn., Agrokhim. Rastit. Zasht., 21(5), 99-104 (Bulgarian) 1986. CODEN: PARZEP. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Root rot of carnation caused by the fungi P. nicotianae parasitica, Phytophthora sp., and Pythium vexans was controlled in 7 susceptible carnation varieties belonging to the Sim group which were artificially infected. Effective control of the disease was provided by soil drenching with 0.06% Ridomil (Metalaxyl) [57837-19-1] or 0.15% Previcur N (propamocarb) [25606-41-1] at 100 mL/plant. .
