Thermodynamics of the solubility of nonionic dyes in water and in poly(ethylene terephthalate)
Thermodynamics of the solubility of nonionic dyes in water and in poly(ethylene terephthalate). Biedermann, W.; Datyner, A. (Basel, Switz.). Text. Res. J., 61(11), 637-44 (English) 1991. CODEN: TRJOA9. ISSN: 0040-5175. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 41 (Dyes, Organic Pigments, Fluorescent Brighteners, and Photographic Sensitizers) Section cross-reference(s): 40 The solys. of six nonionic azo dyes in water and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (I) are detd. and the thermodn. parameters responsible for soly. calcd. The solys. There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 2581-69-3 and 2872-52-8 in this article. in water are small and governed by the mixing enthalpy DHM. Solys. in I are appreciably greater and none of the parameters DGF, DHM, DSD predominate. The mixing enthalpy does not play any particular role in I and, contrary to the Hildebrand concept, cannot be predicted satisfactorily from soly. parameters. .
Use of unilamellar vesicles in wool dyeing using azo disperse dyes
Use of unilamellar vesicles in wool dyeing using azo disperse dyes. de la Maza, A.; Parra, J. L.In this study,2581-69-3 is also used.; Manich, A. M.; Coderch, L. (Departamento Tensioactivos CID, CSIC, Barcelona 08034, Spain). AQEIC Boletin Tecnico, 47(1), 18-20, 25-31 (Spanish) 1996 Asociacion Quimica Espanola de la Industria del Cuero. CODEN: AQECA4. ISSN: 0365-5873. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 40 (Textiles and Fibers) Section cross-reference(s): 66 Unilamellar phospholipid vesicles were evaluated as carriers for azo disperse dyes in dyeing of untreated wool fibers. Liposomes were prepd. with egg phosphatidylcholine and contg. CI Disperse Orange 1 at different phospholipid/dye concns. The mean vesicle size of liposome suspensions was measured after prepn. and during the dyeing process, to det. the stability of the system. The rate of dye adsorption and bonding on untreated wool samples by unilamellar vesicles at different dye/lipid molar ratios was also studied. The use of the vesicle-dye system led to controlled exhaustion of the dye in wool samples, which was directly dependent on the dye/phospholipid in the liposomes, improved dye adsorption, and enhanced dye-fiber bonding. The dispersing efficiency of the systems improved, compared to that of conventional dispersing agents. Optimum dye exhaustion and total amts. of bonded dye to untreated wool fibers were directly correlated with the dye/phospholipid wt. ratio, to det. the max. level of dye encapsulation efficiency. .
