DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Photolysis of isopropyl 3-chlorocarbanilate (CIPC,I) [101-21-3] in distd. water at 25° using stimulated noonday sunlight afforded isopropyl 3-hydroxycarbanilate [2610-61-9] as the only major photolysis product. Half-life for the disappearance of I under these conditions was 130 h. A 2nd major photolysis product, 2-isopropoxycarbonylamino-1,4-benzoquinone [64888-06-8], was obtained when the photolysis was performed in 2% aq. acetone.
