- Study of the initiating capacity of mixtures of aromatic amines and sulfimides in polymerization of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate. Meiman, S. B.; Aronovich, D. A.; Pomerantseva, E. G.; Poduvalova, G. I.; Fokeeva, N.In this article, certain chemicals are used. One of their cas registry numbers is 109-16-0 V.; Sineokov, A. G. (USSR). Deposited Doc., SPSTL 918 Khp-D82, 11 pp. Avail. SPSTL (Russian) 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Report CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) Arom. tertiary amines in mixts. with benzosulfimides formed charge-transfer complexes whose decay products were effective catalysts for polymn. of TGM-3 [109-16-0]. The most effective catalyst system was formed from dimethyl-p-toludine [99-97-8] with (PhSO2)2NH [2618-96-4]. No polymn. was obsd. in the presence of aliph. amines. A direct correlation was obsd. between the ability of the amines to form a complex with the benzosulfimides and the catalytic activity of the system. The effectiveness of the system was increased significantly by the addn. of cumyl hydroperoxide (I) [80-15-9]. The arom. amines or benzosulfimides alone did not accelerate the decompn. of I. .
