A sepn. of the two peaks by 0.3 V was achieved, allowing the detn. of the two metals in a wide range of concns. The influence of pH, nature of the supporting electrolytes, preconcn. time and applied potential was investigated. Pb, Cd, Fe, Zn and Cr do not interfere. The detn. limits were 10-8 mol/L for Co and 10-9 mol/L for Ni. The method was applied to mussel tissues and wines. .

The pK values of I in the ternary solvent mixt. were polarog. detd. as 2.2 and 8.7. .
