Sepn. was achieved by using a 1-m column of Permaphase ODS, using a gradient from H2O to MeOH as an eluant. Satisfactory sepn. was obtained for 12 normal aliph. acyl esters of I. Accuracy was about ±2%.

To ascertain whether such isoenzymes that focus at the same pI are also kinetically analogous, 2 isoenzymes, both focused at pI 7.2, were isolated, 1 from each organ, by elution from cutout, unstained gel segments. Although the esterases of the whole sol. fraction of kidney and testis exhibited different kinetic properties and organophosphate susceptibility, no differences were obsd. with regard to the isoenzymes. Therefore, because of similar electrophoretic and kinetic behavior, the 2 isoenzymes can be regarded as phenotypic expressions of similar genetic products.Except for chemicals metioned above, 17695-46-4 and 2747-05-9 are also used. .
