DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) J 455 (I) [27512-72-7] showed excellent fruit-thinning effects and raised the sugar content when applied to mature C. unshiu trees at 100-200 ppm after full bloom. TH 656 [28077-35-2] and T 773 [59141-15-0] had fruit-thinning effects but lowered the quality of fruits. Both TH 656 and T 773 were useful for removing all young fruits from selected branches of mature C. unshiu trees at 300-400 ppm and from whole young trees at 50-100 ppm.

The greatest percentage of abscised fruit had a size <20 mm in diam. at the time of application. Spraying with 100 and 200 ppm Figaron increased the solids content in fruit juice, which reached com. maturity 4-6 days before that of nontreated fruits. The disappearance of chlorophyl was accelerated by the treatment with Figaron, esp. at 200 ppm.
