Thus, the swelling of edematous rabbit brain slices was reduced, glucose [50-99-7] consumption by the tissue was enhanced, and lactate [113-21-3] and pyruvate [127-17-3] formation were increased by incubation with a soln. contg. succinic acid [110-15-6] 0.5, Na CDP-choline [33818-15-4] 10, tri-Na fructose, 1,6-diphosphate [38099-82-0] 15, tri-Na 3-phosphoglycerate 15, lactose [63-42-3] 10, and di-Na UDP-glucose [28053-08-9] 5 mM. Similar results were given by infusion of such solns. in vivo. .
