Technol., 50(4), 660-70 (English) 1977. CODEN: RCTEA4. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 38 (Elastomers, Including Natural Rubber) Vulcanization of butadiene rubber by I (R = Bu2N) (II) [29529-99-5]in combination with radical generators [2,2'-dithiobis(benzothiazole) [120-78-5], 2-[(2-nitrophenyl)azo]-p-cresol [1435-71-8], (phenylazo)-1-naphthylamine [28514-79-6], dicumyl peroxide [80-43-3], 2,5-bis(tert-butylperoxy)-2,5-dimethylhexane [78-63-7]] gave better crosslinking efficiency and aging resistance than in the absence of II. Aging resistance was retained after solvent extn. I (R = PhNH) [13733-91-0] was much less reactive. Similar results were obtained with SBR, isoprene rubber, nitrile rubber, natural rubber, and EPDM.
