- Insect control on potatoes in Ontario from 1973 to 1982. Ritcey, G.; McGraw, R.; McEwen, F. L. (Dep. Environ. Biol., Univ. Guelph, Guelph, ON N1G 2W1, Can.). Proc. Entomol. Soc. Ont., Volume Date 1982, 113, 1-6 (English) 1983.Some commonly used reagents like 52918-63-5 and 23135-22-0 are used in this experiment. CODEN: PESOAL. ISSN: 0071-0768. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The potato flea beetle (Epitrix cucumeris) was effectively controlled with acephate [30560-19-1] (0.55-1.10 kg/ha), carbofuran [1563-66-2] (0.275-0.55 kg/ha), methamidophos [10265-92-6] (0.5-1.1 kg/ha), cypermethrin [52315-07-8] (0.05-0.15 kg/ha), deltamethrin [52918-63-5] (0.005-0.04 kg/ha), permethrin [52645-53-1] (0.015-0.14 kg/ha), and fenvalerate [51630-58-1] (0.05-0.15 kg/ha). Excellent control of potato leafhopper (Enpoasca fabae) was obtained by cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate and permethrin. The tarnished plant bug (Lygus lineolaris) was effectively controlled by carbofuran, oxamyl [23135-22-0] (0.5-1.92 kg/ha), cypermethrin, fenvalerate, and permethrin. Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) was controlled by all insecticides used except acephate. The increase in aphid populations in Aug. could be controlled with acephate, ethiofencarb [29973-13-5] (0.275-1.1 kg/ha), methamidophos, oxamyl, or profenofos [41198-08-7] (0.5-1.0 kg/ha). By contrast, populations of the green aphid (Myzus persicae) following treatment with carbofuran, chlorpyrifos [2921-88-2] (0.5 kg/ha), deltamethrin, methidathion [950-37-8] (0.25-0.55 kg/ha), cypermethrin, and permethrin developed much higher than nonsprayed lots. .

Detailed data on doses, methods, and times of use, and diseases and insects controlled by these pesticides are presented. .
