DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) 1-Phosphorylenamines (Z)- and (E)-MeCR:C(NMe2)P(O)(OEt)2 (I; R = H, Me) reacted regio- and stereoselectively, after deprotonation, with silylating and alkylating reagents to give homologous (E)-1-phosphorylenamines R1CH2CR:C(NMe2)P(O)(OEt)2 [R1 = (CH2)nMe, SiMe3, CH2Ph, (CH2)3Cl, CH2CYCH, allyl, CHMe2; n = 0, 1, 3-5, 7]. These can be hydrolyzed to give the corresponding C-3 alkylated carboxylic acids. Deprotonation of I (R = Me) occurred on the Me cis to the phosphoryl group. The highly regio- and stereoselective deprotonation allowed the controlled introduction of up to three different alkyl groups. The NMR of deprotonated I (R = H, Me) were discussed. .
