An anionic exchange nylon-laminated membrane was utilized as the solid support for aminoacylase immobilization with N-acetyl-DL-valine as substrate.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 9012-37-7 and 3067-19-4 may be metioned in this study. Various parameters such as recycling and output flow rates, enzyme load on support, and substrate concn. were evaluated. The optimum recycling flow rate was 30 mL/min, which allowed for high catalytic efficiency with good operational stability and avoided mass transfer limitations within the system. Substrate concns. of £0.3M were assayed without enzyme loss. Although the enzyme concn. within the reactor system was not high (10 g/L) it showed a remarkable productivity (0.35 kg L-valine/L-day, 80% conversion) and long operational stability (161 days half-life). The system is useful for amino acid resoln. A simple mass balance equation including the parameters involved for reactor performance is proposed to model the behavior of the system. .
