DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Of the 12 neoplasm inhibitors tested, the alkylating agents, NSC 409962 [1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea] [154-93-8], cyclophosphamide [50-18-0], and melphalan-HCl [3223-07-2], were the most active against serially passaged myeloid leukemia in mice, these 3 agents produced a 35-fold increase in survival. The antimetabolites tested produced 2-3-fold increases in survival. The pathophysiol. of the murine myeloid leukemia is also described.
