DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Hormone Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 15 Histamine acid phosphate [51-74-1] and imidazole acetic acid-HCl (I) [3251-69-2] (10-7-10-3 moles/l.) were both selectively chemotactic for human eosinophils, but L-histidine [71-00-1], 1,4-methylhistamine-2HCl [6481-48-7], 1-methyl-4-imidazole acetic acid-HCl [35454-39-8], and N-acetylhistamine [673-49-4] were inactive. The dose-response relation with histamine was dependent on the chemotaxis incubation time and on the source of eosinophils, though the latter was not clearly assocd. with particular disease states. Between histamine and I there was no additive on synergistic effect but there was cross deactivation. Histamine and I may therefore activate the same chemotactic recognition mechanism in eosinophils. .
