    Identification and determination of impurity in diphenidol hydrochloride. Wang, Wentao (Hunan Prov. Inst. Drug Control, Peop. Rep. China). Yaowu Fenxi Zazhi, 4(1), 8-12 (Chinese) 1984. CODEN: YFZADL. ISSN: 0254-1793. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) 1,1-Diphenyl-4-piperidino-1-butene-HCl [89410-63-9] was identified as the impurity of diphenidol-HCl (I) [3254-89-5] as detd. by elemental anal. and by UV, IR, NMR and mass spectroscopy. Chromatog. of a I sample contg. the impurity on a polyamide plate by using H2O as eluent indicated that a spot was detected under UV light with a wavelength of 254 nm. No spot was detected for pure I samples. 3254-89-5 and 89410-63-9 are just another two chemicals used in this study. The absorbance at 258 nm increased with increasing impurities in the sample. .
