DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) A significant increase in the O index of uncrosslinked polyethylene (I) [9002-88-4] and cumyl peroxide-crosslinked I was obsd. on addn. of Sb2O3 mixts. with Saytex BT-93 (II) [32588-76-4] (Br content 66%) or Saytex 102 (III) [1163-19-5] (Br content 83%). Both II and III exhibited higher fireproofing effectiveness in uncrosslinked I than in crosslinked I. The O index of uncrosslinked I was virtually independent on the amt. of Br in the fireproofing agent, but the O index of crosslinked I was higher in the presence of III than in the presence of II.
