J. Chromatogr., 415(1), 124-8 (English) 1987. CODEN: JOCRAM. ISSN: 0021-9673. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) A sensitive HPLC procedure with electrochem. detection for the detn. of b-phenylethylamine (I) [64-04-0] levels is described. I was derivatized with an excess of sulfo-Bolton-Hunter reagent [106827-57-0] at pH 10 at room temp. for 10 min to facilitate electrochem. detection. The Bolton-Hunter deriv. of I [106827-59-2] gave a sym. peak in the HPLC system with a retention time of 5-6 min. Recovery was 95-100% in the pH range 4-9. Several other amines were derivatized and were found not to interfere in the chromatog. procedure. .
