- Sensitivity of Eimeria to anticoccidial drugs. Yano, Yasuomi; Harada, Yoshiaki (Daito-Fisher Co. Ltd., Japan). Keibyo Kenkyukaiho, 19(3), 138-42 (Japanese) 1983. CODEN: KKKIDL. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 12 The anticoccidial effects of salinomycin (SM) [53003-10-4] (50-60 ppm), monensin (MN) [17090-79-8] (80 ppm), nicarbazin (NC) [330-95-0], (125 ppm), and clopidol (CP) [2971-90-6] (250 ppm) were tested in chickens infected with E. acervulina, E. tenella, or a combination of both parasites. SM and MN both showed effective anticoccidial activity; however, the effect of SM was greater than that of MN. NC (125 ppm) showed anticoccidial activity comparable to that of 50 ppm SM. In contrast, the anticoccidial activity of CP was very low.

Shokuhin Eiseigaku Zasshi, 24(5), 447-53 (Japanese) 1983. CODEN: SKEZAP. ISSN: 0015-6426. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) A high performance liq. chromatog. (HPLC) method was developed for detg. 11 synthetic antibacterials in chickens and eggs. Synthetic antibacterials in the MeCN ext. from chicken muscle and egg were adsorbed on an alumina column and were eluted with 10 mL of 85% MeOH and then with 25 mL MeOH-HOAC-H2O (.4:70). The MeOH ext. was passed through a SEP-PAK C18 column. Clopidol [2971-90-6], dinitolmide [148-01-6], and ethopabate [59-06-3] were eluted with 15 mL of 20% MeCN, and then nicarbazin [330-95-0] and pyrimethamine [58-14-0] were eluted with 20 mL MeCN-HOAc-H2O (:60). Each fraction was quant. analyzed by HPLC. The detection limit of each drug was 0.05 ppm in chicken muscles and eggs. The av. 148-01-6 and 2971-90-6 are just another two chemicals used in this study. recoveries of all drugs added to chicken muscles and eggs were >80%. .
