Study on the tetratogenic potential of 2,2'-isobutylidene-bis(4,6-dimethylphenol) in rats
Study on the tetratogenic potential of 2,2'-isobutylidene-bis(4,6-dimethylphenol) in rats. Ishii, Hiroyuki; Usami, Makoto; Kawashima, Kunio; Takanaka, Akira (Natl. Inst. Hyg. Sci., Tokyo 135, Japan). Eisei Shikensho Hokoku, 109, 37-42 (Japanese) 1991. CODEN: ESKHA5. ISSN: 0077-4715. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) 2,2'-Isobutylidene-bis(4,6-dimethylphenol), an antioxidant, was given orally to pregnant Wistar rats by stomach intubation at the dose levels of 5, 15, or 45 mg/kg during days 7 to 17 of gestation, and the effects of the compd. on dams and fetal developments were examd.Several substances like 33145-10-7 may be metioned in this study. In the dams at the two higher dose levels of 15 and 45 mg/kg, toxic signs (tremor, startle reflex, salivation, involuntary urination, wheezing, and nostril discharge) were obsd. Moreover, at the highest dose level, addnl. toxic signs (lacrimation and vaginal bleeding), suppression in maternal body wt. gain, and food consumption were obsd. However, there was no evidence of an increase in malformations attributable to the treatment with 2,2'-isobutylene-bis(4,6-dimethylphenol) in any of the treated groups. It was concluded that 2,2'-isobutylene-bis(4,6-dimethylphenol) has no teratogenic effect in rats, though toxic signs were obsd. in treated dams of the 15 and 45 mg/kg groups. .
Silver halide-containing color photographic material
Silver halide-containing color photographic material. Morigaki, Masakazu; Seto, Nobuo (Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 03051846 A2 6 Mar 1991 Heisei, 51 pp. (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: ICM: G03C007-32. ICS: G03C007-26; G03C007-392. APPLICATION: JP 89-187702 20 Jul 1989. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 74 (Radiation Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Photographic and Other Reprographic Processes) In the title material, silver halide emulsion layers contain 3 1 couplers I, 3 1 compds. selected from phenol derivs.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 33145-10-7 and 137143-35-2 are used here. II, and 3 1 compds. selected from alkoxybenzene derivs. III. For I, R = H, substituent; Za, Zb, Zc = methine, substituted methine, :N, NH; Y = H, substituent, group which is released upon coupling reaction with the oxidized developing agent; a proviso regarding Y, Za, Zb, and Zc is given; compds. I may form polymers by either R, Y, Za, Zb, or Zc. For II, R1, R2, R5, R6 = H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl; either R1R2 or R5R6 may form 5- to 7-membered ring; R3, R4 = H, alkyl, aryl; R7 = H, alkyl; the total no. of C atoms in R1 to R6 is £30. For III, R11, R12 = alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, heterocyclyl, etc.; R13 to R16 = H, alkylthio, arylthio, etc.; substituents, e.g., R11R13, R11R16, etc., may form 5- to 7-membered rings. I are photog. couplers. II and III are dyed image stabilizers. The use of the title material gives excellent color reprodn. .
