Thus, 40 mmol Ph2Si(OH)2 [947-42-2] in 100 mL PhMe was mixed with 25 mL soln. of 3.2 mmol BuMgCl [693-04-9]/mL in Bu2O, heated at 70°, cooled, mixed with 8 mL 1.0 mM Et benzoate [93-89-0] in PhMe, heated at 110°, heated to remove solvents, mixed with 800 mmol TiCl4, heated at 130°, washed with C7H16, and used (23.2 mg) with 0.10 mmol Et3Al to polymerize propylene in C7H16 at 70° for 2 h, giving 13.0 g powd. I (90.1% isotactic).
