Triazine diptericides
Triazine diptericides. Brechbuehler, Hans U.; Mattern, Guenter (Ciba-Geigy A.-G. , Switz.). Patentschrift (Switz.) CH 638376 A 30 Sep 1983, 6 pp. (German). (Switzerland). CODEN: SWXXAS. CLASS: IC: A01N043-68. APPLICATION: CH 78-12886 19 Dec 1978. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Triazines I (R1 = H, Me, Et, Pr, iso-Pr, allyl, propargyl, methoxymethyl, OH, or cyanoethyl; R2, R4 = H, Me, Et; R3 = H, Me, Et, Pr, iso-Pr, allyl, or propargyl; R5 = H, Me, Et, Pr, iso-Pr; R6 = Me or Et, or R5R6 = 5-6-membered ring with N) or their addn. salts are insecticides for Diptera control. Thus, such compds. were active against houseflies, Aedes aegypti, and blowflies (Lucilia sericata) in lab. tests. There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 5606-32-6 and 16274-55-8 in this article. 2,4-Diamino-6-morpholino-s-triazine [2827-42-1] was prepd. by reaction of 2,4-diamino-6-chloro-s-triazine [3397-62-4] with morpholine [110-91-8]. Dust, granular, emulsifiable conc., and spray formulations, etc., are described. .
Evaluation of the behavior of residues of atrazine and its dealkylated metabolites
Evaluation of the behavior of residues of atrazine and its dealkylated metabolites. I. Determination of residues in the soil. Conti, G. G.; Quintodei, V.; Aquilanti, A.; Sprocati, M.Chemicals with cas numbers 1007-28-9 and 6190-65-4 also play role. T. (Ist. Patol. Veg., Univ. Milano, Milan, Italy). Not. Mal. Piante, 104, 147-68 (Italian) 1983. CODEN: NOMPA8. ISSN: 0468-9291. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 19 During a two-years field trial, the breakdown and residual behavior of atrazine [1912-24-9] and its dealkylated metabolites deethylatrazine (I) [6190-65-4], deisopropylatrazine (II) [1007-28-9], and deethyldeisopropylatrazine (III) [3397-62-4] was studied in a sandy-loam soil. After corn was sown, exptl. plots were treated yearly with 50% atrazine wettable powder, at 2-4 and 6 kg/ha. Soil samples (0-20 cm) were collected 6-17-30 and 80 days and 2-4-9- and 20 days after the treatment during the 1st and the 2nd year, resp. Gas-chromatog. anal. showed a very rapid disappearance rate of the herbicide in soil. During the 1st year atrazine residues were strongly reduced 17 days after the treatment, proportionally to the dose tested, and after 80 days they were very low and uniform. I and II were present at very low rates and rapidly; III was never detected. Lab. tests carried out on wheat cultivar Irnerio in hydroponic soln. contg. different doses of atrazine and I and II, showed that the final residue values found in the soil do not pose any phytotoxic hazard to the crops cultivated in rotation. Result are discussed taking into account the degrdn. mechanisms of atrazine in soil and data from comparable expts. .
