The single bead string reactor as part of a flow injection anal. system was used for the detn. of penicillins in pharmaceutical tablets, injectables, and fermn. broths by means of pH monitoring. Penicillin G [61-33-6] and V [87-08-1] can be selectively detd. in the 0.05-0.50 mM range and at a frequency of 150 injections per h.

XPS anal. suggests that the PMDA/PAMAM interlayer covalent bond is established to completion, and functional surfaces for immobilization of the next layer are available after deposition of each layer. UV-visible absorption and ellipsometry revealed layer-by-layer growth of the film. The functional property film as a porous matrix was manifested in the redn. of the refractive index upon introduction of the dendrimer. .
