The ionic liqs. were formed from anhyd. AlCl3 and ethylpyridinium chloride or butylpyridinium chloride. The reaction mixt. can be easily sepd., and the inorg. phase contg. the ionic liq. can be recycled. Under optimum conditions, the product yield reached 56.7%. .
