Adsorption of heteropolar collectors by sulfide minerals and precious metals
Adsorption of heteropolar collectors by sulfide minerals and precious metals. Leonov, S. B.; Baranov, A. N. (Irkutsk. Politekh. Inst., Irkutsk, USSR). Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Tsvetn. Metall., (6), 8-13 (Russian) 1977. CODEN: IVUTAK. ISSN: 0021-3438. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) Section cross-reference(s): 72 Electrochem. studies were undertaken to det. the interaction of sulfhydryl flotation collectors with Pt, Au, and galena. The sorption energies were detd. on a Pt-coated electrode for K amyl xanthate (I) [2720-73-2], K Bu xanthate (II) [871-58-9], K Et xanthate (III) [140-89-6], Na dithiophosphate dibutyl ether (IV) [36245-44-0], and Na diethyl dithiocarbamate (V) [18869-61-9]. The adsorption capacity increases in the sequence IV < III < II < V < I and decreases in the sequence Pt-Au-galena. A correlation was established between the adsorption of the sulfhydryl collector on galena and its flotability.
Interaction of sulfhydryl collectors with the surface of sperrylite
Interaction of sulfhydryl collectors with the surface of sperrylite. Volyanskii, B. M.; Ostorozhnaya, E. E.; Geonya, N. I.; Gorshtein, A. E.; Illyuvieva, G. V. (USSR). Tsvetn. Met. (Moscow), (1), 88-90 (Russian) 1985. CODEN: TVMTAX. ISSN: 0372-2929. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) Flotation of sperrylite (PtAs2) was considered in the presence of KBu xanthate (I) [871-58-9] or Na di-Bu dithiophosphate (II) [36245-44-0] as the sulfhydryl collectors. Reaction products of sorption were investigated by photometric detn. of product spectra near 240-320 nm in n-decane extn. phase, after the addnl. extn. treatment with NH4OH for 2-layer solns. Sorption of I on the sperrylite surface was in the form of dixanthate, but II was sorbed in both the ionic form and as the oxidn. products. Collector concn. was related to pH of soln. and the electrode potential of sperrylite. Measurement of slurry pH is suitable in flotation control.
