Thus, a rigid PVC film was successively coated with a mixt. (10 g/m2) of natural rubber-Me methacrylate graft copolymer 65, terpene resin 35, and PhMe 400 parts and another mixt. (0.2-0.3 g/m2) of I 0.5, chlorinated II 0.5, PhMe 85, and MeOH 15 parts, dried 5 min at 110°, and rolled to give a tape with adhesive strength (JIS A3003P) 130 g/25 mm and unrolling force 105 g/25 mm, compared with 125 and 460 g/25 mm, resp., for a tape when I was omitted.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 38 (Plastics Fabrication and Uses) Lightwt., vibration damping, flexible adhesive tapes for encircling bundles of elec. cables are obtained by reinforcing a woven polypropylene fabric by pressing in a calender to give a fabric with area wt. 60-100 g/m2, thickness 400-600 mm, tensile strength 200-270 N (5 cm), and elongation at break 55-85%, followed by one-sided application of an acrylic polymer- or rubber-based pressure sensitive adhesive. The other side of the tape is covered by a release agent. Thus, a natural rubber-based adhesive was applied onto one side of a tape from polypropylene fabric (wt. area 80 g/m2.). The other side of the tape was treated with a soln. of poly(vinyl stearylcarbamate) release agent. The tape was dried at 30-60° to give the final product. .
