Efficacy of herbicides in direct sown short duration rice
Efficacy of herbicides in direct sown short duration rice. Subbiah, K. K.; Morachan, Y. B. (Tamil Nadu Agric. Univ., Coimbatore, India). Madras Agric. J., 63(4), 242-3 (English) 1976. CODEN: MAAJAP. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Of 11 herbicides, applied postplant singly and in binary mixts. to rice, into which Echinochloa and Cyperus were sown, C 19490-2,4-D IPE mixt. [50933-14-7] (0.75 and 0.5 kg/ha, resp.), 1.0 kg Avirosan [12701-69-8], and 2.0 kg M 3432 [36756-79-3]/ha, most effectively controlled the above weeds and Marsilea, and gave the highest rice yields.
Photochemistry and volatility of Drepamon in water
Photochemistry and volatility of Drepamon in water. Draper, William M.; Crosby, Donald G. (Dep. Environ. Toxicol., Univ. California, Davis, CA 95616, USA). J. Agric. Food Chem., 32(4), 728-33 (English) 1984. CODEN: JAFCAU. ISSN: 0021-8561. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The aquatic environmental chem. of the herbicide Drepamon (I) [36756-79-3] was investigated in lab. studies of photochem. reactivity and volatilization. In distd. water I photooxidized slowly to N-[(benzylsulfinyl)carbonyl]-N,N-di-sec-butylamine (I sulfoxide) [51955-39-6], an intermediate that underwent further direct photochem. There are some commonly used reagents like 10156-71-5 in this article. conversion to benzaldehyde [100-52-7]. Traces of H2O2 greatly accelerated the photodecompn. of I and altered the distribution of photoproducts so that phenols predominated. Preoxide-initiated free radical photooxidn. included S oxidn. and N-dealkylation as well. I, its phenolic products, benzaldehyde, and sec-butylamine [13952-84-6] were analyzed by gas-liq. chromatog. The thermally-unstable sulfoxide and sulfone were detd. by HPLC. I volatilized from aq. solns. more rapidly than the structurally related herbicides molinate [2212-67-1] and thiobencarb [28249-77-6]. .
