Metabolism of budralazine, a new antihypertensive agent. I. Identification of the metabolites of budralazine in rats. Moroi, Reimei; Ono, Kenji; Saito, Tadashi; Sano, Mitsuji; Akimoto, Takeshi (Res. Inst., Daiichi Seiyaku Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan).Some commonly used reagents like 54689-33-7 is used in this experiment. Chem. Pharm. Bull., 24(11), 2850-8 (English) 1976. CODEN: CPBTAL. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) The metab. of budralazine (I) [36798-79-5] in rats was investigated. Ten urinary metabolites were detected and identified after oral administration. Major metabolites were 3-methyl-s-triazolo[3,4-a]phthalazine [20062-41-3] and 1-[s-triazolo[3,4-a]phthalazine-3-carboxy)-.beta.-D-glucopyranosiduroni c acid [54687-68-2]. Comparison of the metabolic pattern obtained in spontaneously hypertensive rat and normotensive Wistar-strain rat was also discussed. But no significant difference was obsd. for the time course of biotransformation rate between them. .

S-triazolo[3,4-a]phthalazine [234-80-0] was also biotransformed via 1-hydrazinophthalazine. Expts. using liver prepns. of rat were also discussed briefly.
