Finally, the intermol. stretching vibration (ns) was obsd. in the far-IR region. For a given base, the wavenos. of this vibration are not ordered according to the strength of the interaction, but depend on the mass of the substituent on the phenolic ring. The corresponding force const. is computed using the Lippincott-Schroeder potential function. .
