A process for the prepn. of 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene comprises the decarboxylation of 2,4,6-trifluoro-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid. A mixt. of 5-chloro-2,4,6-trifluoro-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (60 g) and DMF (90 mL) was heated to give 2-chloro-1,3,5-trifluorobezene in 92% yield; dechlorination of the latter gave 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene in 73% yield. Amination of the latter with MeOH/NH3 at 200° for 60 h gave I in 93% yield.Except for chemicals metioned above, 372-39-4 and 27074-09-5 are also used. .
