Thus, 100 parts mixt. contg. cane sugar stearate (I) [37318-31-3] 42, cane sugar 25, and Na oleate 30% was dissolved in 500 parts MeCOEt and 350 parts water at 55°, mixed with HCl to pH 4.5, and sepd., and the org. layer was mixed with 200 parts MeCOEt and 200 parts water, kept at 55°, mixed with 6 parts CaCl2, adjusted to pH 4.5-6 with aq. alkali, stirred for 30 min, filtered to remove the ppt., and concd. to give 97.5% I having purity 95.8%.
