Heating this ether with bisphenol A (II) and 0.05% 2-methylimidazole at 150-190°C for 6 h gave a resin [60318-71-0] with epoxy equiv. wt. 450-6000 and viscosity 93,000 cP or B-I [Gardner-Holdt with 40% Bu(OCH2CH2)2OH soln.], depending on the amt. of II used. A mixt. of this resin (epoxy equiv. wt. 2000-2500, Gardner-Holt viscosity F) 736.8, aminoplast (Resimene 747) 200.2, siloxane (DC 840) 29.6, TiO2 388.6, xylene 657.4, EtOCH2CH2OAc 405, and BuOH 202.5 g contg. 1.55% blocked acid catalyst (Zahn-2 and -4 viscosity 27 and 75) was coated on steel and baked 15 min at 306 °F to give a coating with crosshatch adhesion 5, forward and reverse impact 86 and 32 in.-lb, resp., and Sward hardness 51.

(NCO/OH 1.1), which was coated (25 m) on a 100 m thick poly(ethylene terephthalate) films and heated 90 s at 110° to obtain an adhesive tape.
