DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 25 N-Ethyl-N-benzyldichloroacetamide [39084-68-9], 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl N-p-chlorophenylcarbamate [782-94-5], N,N-diallyldichloroacetamide [37764-25-3], and 2,2,5-trimethyl-3-(dichloroacetyl)oxazolidine (I) [52836-31-4] are antidotes for pyrrolidine herbicides. Thus, in field expts., 0.56 kg I/ha markedly decreased the phytotoxicity of 1-m-trifluoromethylphenyl-3-chloro-4-chloromethyl-2-pyrrolidone [89271-20-5] (0.37 kg/ha) to corn. The prepn. of the antidotes is given. .

Weed Sci., 32(1), 51-8 (English) 1983. 64902-72-3 and 81-84-5 which are cas registry numbers are also used here. CODEN: WEESA6. ISSN: 0043-1745. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Greenhouse studies detd. the efficacy of 4 herbicide antidotes as protectants of corn (Zea mays) against injury from preemergence or early postemergence applications of chlorsulfuron [64902-72-3], fluazifop-butyl [69806-50-4], or BAS 9052OH [2-[1-(ethoxyimino)-butyl]-4-[2-(ethylthio)-propyl]-3-hydroxy-2-cyclohexen e-1-one] [74051-80-2]. NA (1,8-naphthalic anhydride) [81-84-5] was the most effective of the 4 antidotes in protecting corn against injury from preemergence applications of chlorsulfuron. CGA-43089 [a-(cyanomethoxy)-iminobenzeneacetonitrile] [63278-33-1] and CGA-92194 [a-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethoxy)iminobenzeneacetonitrile] [74782-23-3] partially protected corn from chlorosulfuron injury, whereas R-25788 (N,N-diallyl-2,2-dichloroacetamide] [37764-25-3] was the least effective. R-25788 offered partial to good protection to corn against injury from preemergence applications of fluazifop-Bu and BAS 9052OH. NA, or CGA-43089, and CGA-92194 partially protected corn from fluazifop-butyl injury, but their efficacy against BAS 9052OH injury to corn was limited. In general, all 4 antidotes offered better protection to the thiocarbamate-tolerant Dekalb XL72AA hybrid than to the thiocarbamate-susceptible DeKalb XL67 hybrid. With the exception of NA, which partially protected corn from postemergence-applied chlorosulfuron, none of the 4 herbicide antidotes was effective in protecting corn against injury from postemergence applications of any of the 3 herbicides. .
