- Effect of 5-hydroxyanthranilic acid on arachidonate metabolites function in platelet aggregation system. Goda, Kiyoshi; Mori, Terutoshi; Ueda, Takashi; Kotake, Yahito (Dep. Nutr., Kobe-Gakuin Univ., Kobe 673, Japan). Prog. Tryptophan Serotonin Res., Proc. - Meet. Int. Study Group Tryptophan Res. ISTRY, 4th, Meeting Date 1983, 285-8. Edited by: Schlossberger, Hans Georg. de Gruyter: Berlin, Fed. Rep. Ger. (English) 1984. CODEN: 51OLA5. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) 5-Hydroxyanthranilic acid (I) [394-31-0] did not alter human platelet aggregation induction by arachidonic acid [506-32-1], but concn.-dependently prevented inhibition of the aggregation induced by swine aortic microsomes, which form the antiaggregatory substance PGI2 [35121-78-9]. However, I failed to alter platelet aggregation inhibition induced by the direct addn. of PGI2. Apparently, I exerts an inhibitory influence on PGI2 formation by blood vessel wall microsomes.

Eiyo To Shokuryo, 30(5), 291-6 (Japanese) 1977. CODEN: EISOAU. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Foods) Autoxidn. of lard was delayed by some metabolites of tryptophan at the 0.003% level, their activity descending in the order: 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid [548-93-6], 5-hydroxyanthranilic acid [394-31-0], alanine [56-41-7], b-NAD [53-84-9], anthranilic acid [118-92-3], tryptophan [73-22-3], kynurenic acid [492-27-3], xanthurenic acid [59-00-7]. Tocopherol-tryptophan mixt. [65381-27-3] or 5-hydroxyanthranilic acid-tocopherol mixt. [65381-28-4] had greater antioxidant activity than tocopherol or tryptophan alone.
