DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Expts. were conducted to establish silkworm tolerance to sprayed water solns. of nibiol [4008-48-4], 0.00005-0.0003%; rubigan [60168-88-9], 0.1-0.01%; mugibon [23564-05-8], 0.5-0.05%; Baycor [55179-31-2], 0.2-0.01%; sumilex [32809-16-8] 0.5-0.02%, dithane [12656-69-8], 0.5-0.05%; Mikal [66523-55-5], 0.6-0.1%; agridex [88650-63-9], 0.1-0.03%; nuarimol [63284-71-9], 0.1-0.02%; kasugamycin [6980-18-3], 0.1-0.5%; Vitavax [5234-68-4], 0.5-10.0%; and methyltopsin (mugibon) 0.1-10.0% dusts. Prepns. in vitro inhibited the growth of Beauveria bassiana and B. tenella on Saburo agar. Mugibon 0.5-5.0%, methyltopsin 0.02-10% and Vitavax 0.5-10.0% exhibited fungicidal activity. Practically all the tested doses of the prepns. were tolerated by the silkworms with the exception of Vitavax. For control of muscardines, methyltopsin may be used at 0.02-1.0% for spraying the silkworms and the litter, and as a dust at 0.5-10.0%. Depending on relative humidity percentage and muscardine risks, the prepn. could be applied daily, even in the molting period.
