Electrophilic solvents increased the rate because of the acceptor nature of the F compd. The addn. of PhF acceptor in the polymn. of styrene [100-42-5] had the same effects, with the polymer mol. wt. increasing as the PhF concn. increased. The polymn. mechanism was discussed.
