Curing], 8th, 6/17-6/31. Assoc. Finish. Processes SME: Dearborn, Mich. (English) 1984. CODEN: 54VTAH. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) During accelerated testing of UV-curable urethane acrylate coatings, the xenon arc weathermeter had good ability to simulate and predict exterior weathering performance. The addn. of 1% Tinuvin 292 [41556-26-7] greatly improved yellowing resistance and other properties with no interference with the UV curing process.

Technol., 56(712), 33-48 (English) 1984. CODEN: JCTEDL. ISSN: 0361-8773. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 42 Lab. model systems showed that light stabilizers, e.g., Tinuvin 328 [25973-55-1], Tinuvin 144 [63843-89-0], Tinuvin 292 [41556-26-7], and HALS 2 [70198-29-7], can extend the useful service life of biocides (mildewcide, wood preservatives) in coatings, as shown by TLC and electron capture gas chromatog. For example, after 30 min exposure to UV, 97% of chlorthalonil [1897-45-6] soln. (20 mg/mL) contg. 75 ppm Tinuvin 328 or 100 ppm Tinuvin 144 remained, as compared to only 2% in control. The mechanism of actions of these stabilizers and the results of exterior exposures (white linseed oil based stain and acrylic films) are discussed.
