Thus, a polyester-wool blend was dyed with a liquor contg. 6.6% (on fiber wt.) Sumikaron Blue R and immersed in an aq. mixt. contg. 0.5 g/L I and 1 g/L Na tripolyphosphate for 30 min at 80.degree. to give an unstained colored fabric.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 40 (Textiles and Fibers) The pickup of acid dyes of anthraquinone and azo types by as-spun acrylic fibers increased insignificantly as concn. of thiourea [62-56-6] or thiourea dioxide [4189-44-0] in the dyeing bath increased from 0 to 0.5 g/L and leveled off at higher concns. The dye pickup increased more significantly in the presence of urea [57-13-6], reaching a max. at urea concn. 2.0 g/L. The effect of urea derivs. on dyeing was attributed to the formation of a salt between CO2H groups of the fiber and NH2 groups of the derivs. No changes in CN groups of the fibers were obsd.
