DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Of 8 cyclic carboxylic, acetic, and butyric acids tested in monkeys, cyclobutyl- to cycloheptylcarboxylic acids and adamantaneacetic acid [42862-38-4] showed capacity-limited elimination (hydroxylation and conjugation dependent on dose). Cyclohexylacetic acid [5292-21-7], cyclohexylbutyric acid [4441-63-8], and cyclopentylacetic acid [1123-00-8] were eliminated via a biphasic elimination similar to that of 2-propylpentanoate [99-66-1]. 99-66-1 and 1123-00-8 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. Cycloheptylcarboxylic acid [1460-16-8], when given together with cyclohexylcarboxylic acid [98-89-5] or with 2-propylpentanoate, inhibited the metab. of the latter 2 drugs. In the urine, a dose of cycloheptylcarboxylic acid was excreted 1.5% as free drug, 15.6% as glucuronide, and 9.5% as other (unidentified) conjugates. Increasing the ring size of the cycloalkyl group increased the effect of capacity-limited elimination, and attachment of the Co2H group to the alicyclic ring was essential for this type of elimination. .
