Redn. by SnCl2 and HCl and oxidn. by FeCl3 gave I (R = NH2; R1 = H; R2 = R3 = CN) [68217-29-8] which was treated with p-ethoxyaniline [156-43-4] to give I (R = NH2; R1 = NH-p-C6H4OEt; R2 = R3 = CN) [95264-83-8] having decompn. temp. 270°, vacuum evapn. temp. 240°, vacuum evapn. rate 100 ?/min, absorbancy index 0.8, and life at 25° of 350 yr.
