- The effects of cortisone on mast cells in the adrenal glands
- The effects of cortisone on mast cells in the adrenal glands. Okinaga, Miyako (Sch. Med., Teikyo Univ., Tokyo 173, Japan). Okajimas Folia Anat. Jpn., 60(4), 219-41 (English) 1983. CODEN: OFAJAE. ISSN: 0030-154X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) Prednisolone [50-24-8] administered to the NC strain of mice susceptible to anaphylactic shock in response to ovalbumin decreased the seriousness of the allergic response to subsequent challenge. During the allergic response, the no. of mast cells increased in the adrenal cortex, particularly in the fascicular zone, histamine [51-45-6] fluorescent intensity in the granules of the mast cells decreased, and the mast cells degranulated. All of these effects were decreased by pretreatment with prednisolone.Except for chemicals metioned above, 53-06-5 and 51-45-6 are also used. .

- Analysis of pharmaceutical preparations by chromatography. (V) Determination of hydrocortisone and diphenhydramine ointment. Ejima, Akira; Tatsuzawa, Masayoshi; Matsuda, Rieko (Natl. Inst. Hyg. Sci., Tokyo 158, Japan). Iyakuhin Kenkyu, 15(1), 118-22 (Japanese) 1984. CODEN: IYKEDH. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) Hydrocortisone (I) [50-23-7] and diphenhydramine (II) [58-73-1] were detd. in ointments by high-performance liq. chromatog. (HPLC) with Hitachi Gel 3011 as a stationary phase and alk. MeOH soln. as a mobile phase. A ~1.0-g sample was treated with 20 mL HCl-MeOH (0.9:1000) at 60°, cooled, and 5 mL H2O was added and filtered. The filtrate (5 mL) was washed with hexane, and the aq. phase with addn. of benzophenone as internal std. was subjected to anal. by HPLC. The recovery of I and II was 102.2 and 101.95%, resp. Measured I concns. were 85.52% of the declared values and measured II concns. 67-73-2 and 58-73-1 are just another two chemicals used in this study. were 103.41% of the declared values. The retention time of I acetate, fluocinolone acetonide [67-73-2], triamcinolone acetonide [76-25-5], dexamethasone [50-02-2], betamethasone [378-44-9], prednisolone [50-24-8], triamcinolone [124-94-7], propylparaben [94-13-3] and butylparaben [94-26-8] is presented. .
