The total recovery of 14C was 53.37% of the originally injected amt., indicating excretion of gaseous metabolites or exudation by roots. I was metabolized by hydrolysis and O-dealkylation. Potatoes metabolized I more slowly than did beans, and translocated a larger proportion to roots. I metabolites also were recovered from potato tubers.
