In adult males Cn9 constitutes 2.5-5% of the phospholipid and ~20% of triacylglycerol fatty acids. It accounts for 1-2% of the triacylglycerol and phospholipid fatty acids of adult females. Proportions of this fatty acid appear to be relatively const. in the absence or presence, at various concns., of dietary polyunsatd. fatty acids, including Cn3, Cn6, Cn3, Cn3 and Cn6. .
