DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) The effects of methionine-enkephalin [58569-55-4] and its retro analog Met-Phe-Gly-Gly-Tyr-OH [77658-98-1] on pentagastrin [5534-95-2]- or histamine [51-45-6]-stimulated gastric secretion in dogs were compared. The retro analog potentiated the effects of pentagastrin to a greater extent than did methonine-enkephalin. Only the retro analog affected histamine-stimulated gastric secretion and its effect was much less than that on pentagastrin-stimulated secretion. .
