Disperse Yellow 42 [5124-25-4] were evaluated using the Colormat app. Addn. of nonionic polyoxyalkylenes increased significantly the soly. of the dyes.

Polymer requirements for these disperse dyes are detd. by the concn. of the dispersing agent, e.g. REAX 85A [58252-37-2]. At const. pH, the alum dosage required for best color removal increased nonlinearly with increasing concn. of the dispersant; min. alum dosages are required at pH 5.5.
