DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) The cond.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 853-68-9 and 5182-30-9 may be metioned in this study. of polypyrrole films doped with several kinds of sulfonate derivs. of anthraquinone, naphthalene, and Cu phthalocyanine decreases with increasing no. of sulfonate groups of a doped mol. though the molar ratio of sulfonate groups to pyrrole rings is almost the same in all cases. The increase in the no. of sulfonate groups in a doped mol. causes localization of pos. charge carriers in the polypyrrole films, resulting in a decrease of the film cond. .

GPC (gel permeation chromatog.) was investigated theor. and exptl., in order to elucidate the feasibility of GPC as a technique for measuring the Donnan salt exclusion parameter, G, of polyelectrolytes. Three simple salts different in the valency of the anion, i.e., NaCl, Na2SO4 and tri-Na 1,3,6-naphthalenetrisulfonate, were eluted with aq. NaNO3 soln. on a Sephadex G-10 gel column. The exptl. results were analyzed in terms of the Donnan equil. established on the gel, and the G value of these simple salts was evaluated. The G value from GPC was in good agreement with the theor. value of 1/2 for an ideal case, showing that the colligative properties of electrolytes and polyelectrolytes such as G can be accurately investigated by means of GPC. GPC expts. on the Donnan salt exclusion were further carried out for the heparin-NaCl system by using a Sephadex G-25 gel column. From the exptl. data, the G value of heparin was estd. .
