Some novel diene polymers prepared with lanthanide catalysts
Some novel diene polymers prepared with lanthanide catalysts. Yeh, H. C.; Hsieh, H. L. (Phillips Pet. Co., Bartlesville, OK 74004, USA). Polym. Prepr. (Am. Chem. Soc., Div. Polym. Chem.), 25(2), 52-3 (English) 1984. CODEN: ACPPAY. ISSN: 0032-3934. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) (E)-1,3-Pentadiene (I) [2004-70-8], 2,3-dimethylbutadiene (II) [513-81-5], (E,E)-2,4-hexadiene (III) [5194-51-4], and (E)-2-methyl-1,3-pentadiene (IV) [926-54-5] were stereospecifically polymd. using lanthanide coordination catalysts. All polymerizable conjugated dienes proceeded predominantly in a 1,4-addn. manner, while changes in lanthanide metals, halogens, and ligands did not significantly affect cis and trans 1,4-content of the stereoregular polymer. I underwent polymn. to give high-mol.-wt. products having primarily a cis-1,4 isotactic structure while III gave a cryst. product. II was polymd. to yield a product that resembled isotactic polypropylene in appearance and phys. properties. IV was polymd. to give a 1,4-addn. product having 40% cis and 60% trans configuration. A bidentate coordination complex of the diene monomer to the lanthanide catalyst was suggested.
Excess enthalpies of binary mixtures containing unsaturated hydrocarbons

CODEN: JCTDAF. 4050-45-7 and 13269-52-8 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. ISSN: 0021-9614. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 69 (Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Thermal Properties) Section cross-reference(s): 22 The excess molar enthalpies over the entire compn. range of mixts. of 1-hexene [592-41-6] with trans-2-hexene (II) [4050-45-7], trans-3-hexene (III) [13269-52-8], 1,5-hexadiene (IV) [592-42-7], trans-1,3-hexadiene (V) [20237-34-7], trans-2,4-hexadiene [5194-51-4], cis-1,3,5-hexatriene (VI) [821-07-8], and trans-1,3,5-hexatriene [2612-46-6] of II with III, IV, and V, of III with IV and V, and of IV with V and VI were detd. in a McGlashan-type calorimeter at 298.15 K. The influence of the unsatd. bond position on the apparent size of p-p-interactions is discussed. .
