Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan). Planta Med., 32(1), 9-17 (English) 1977. CODEN: PLMEAA. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Saponin exts. from Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng), American ginseng (P. quinquefolium), San-Chi ginseng (P. pseudoginseng notoginseng), and Japanese Chikusetsu ginseng (P. pseudoginseng japonicus) were subjected to droplet counter-current chromatog. using :6:40 CHCl3-MeOH-PrOH-H2O as the solvent system with the fractions detd. colorimetrically. The Korean ginseng contained ginsenoside Rb1 [41753-43-9], ginsenoside Rb2 [11021-13-9], ginsenoside Rc [11021-14-0], ginsenoside Re [52286-59-6], and ginsenoside Rg1 [22427-39-0] as major components and ginsenoside Rd [52705-93-8] and ginsenoside Rf [52286-58-5] as minor components. The American and San-Chi samples differed slightly; e.g. American ginsenoside lacked ginsenoside Rg1 and had another unknown component whereas the Japanese Chikusetsu samples were very different.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Section cross-reference(s): 11 Possibility of manufg. panaxosides from leaves harvested in autumn from P. ginseng grown for roots was explored. The yield of triterpenoid glycosides from 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-yr-old plants was 0.4, 1.In this article, certain chemicals are used. Some of their cas registry numbers are 22427-39-0 and 41753-43-9 0, 1.1, and 1.4 g/m2, resp. The panaxoside wt. of air-dried aerial part was 4.0, 10.5, 12.0, and 17.0 g/m2, resp. This increase offset the decreasing content of total panaxosides which was 10.0, 9.5, 8.7, and 8.3 air-dried-wt.%, resp. Leaves of 4-yr-old plants harvested during flowering (June), fruit-ripening (Aug.), and the beginning of withering (Sept.) contained 10.8, 10.1, and 10.1 dry-wt.% panaxosides, resp. The compn. of panaxosides did not depend on age or season. The total glycosidic fraction contained 310 panaxosides of which Rb1 [41753-43-9], Rc [11021-14-0], Re [52286-59-6], Rf [52286-58-5], Rg1 [22427-39-0], and Rg2 [52286-74-5] were identified. .
