DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Seeds of grain sorghum (S. bicolor) were treated with the fungicides captan [133-06-2], thiram [137-26-8], mancozeb [8018-01-7], triphenyltin acetate [900-95-8], benomyl [17804-35-2], carbendazim [10605-21-7], thiophanate methyl [23564-05-8], thiabendazole [148-79-8] and carboxin [5234-68-4] in 3 concns. (100, 500, and 1000 ppm). The percentage of germination, total no. of fungal colonies, and range of action in the different treatments were obsd. Seeds treated with captan, thiram, and benomyl showed the highest germination and at 1000 ppm showed the smallest no. of fungal colonies. Captan and thiram controlled more efficiently Fusarium moniliforme, Curvularia lunata, Helminthosporium, and Rhizopus stolonifer than benzomyl, but the latter had better control of Aspergillus and Penicillium.
