- Compatibility of Beauveria bassiana isolates with insecticide formulations used in Colorado potato beetle (Coleoptera:Chrysomelidae) control. Anderson, T. E.; Roberts, D. W. (Boyce Thompson Inst. Plant Res., Cornell Univ., Ithaca, NY 14853, USA). J. Econ. Entomol., 76(6), 1437-41 (English) 1983. CODEN: JEENAI. ISSN: 0022-0493. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Six isolates of the insect fungus B. bassiana (Bb) and 13 insecticide formulations were examd. to find compatible combinations for Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) control. Few significant differences were found between Bb isolates. Emulsifiable-conc. insecticide formulations using xylene-based, arom. solvents were most inhibitory toward Bb. Wettable-powder formulations often increased colony counts. Pyrethroids (permethrin [52645-53-1] and fenvalerate [51630-58-1]) were inhibitory as both formulated and tech. materials. In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 1563-66-2 and 51-03-6 Most Bb inhibition occurred within 4 h of mixing. Sep. application of Bb and insecticides greatly mitigated Bb inhibition. .

- Accumulation and excretion of permethrin by the Himedaka, Oryzias latipes, and biological significance of accumulated permethrin. Kikuchi, Takeaki; Nagashima, Yuji; Chiba, Mikio (Tokyo Univ. Fish., Tokyo 108, Japan). Nippon Suisan Gakkaishi, 50(1), 101-6 (English) 1984. 61949-77-7 and 61949-76-6 are also occured in this study. CODEN: NSUGAF. ISSN: 0021-5392. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) The toxicity of permethrin (I) [52645-53-1] to the Himedaka O. latipes was assessed with a formulated I product, and cis- [61949-76-6], and trans- [61949-77-7] isomers of I individually. Median lethal concn. (LC50) values obtained after 48 h were 60, 38 and 55 ppb for the formulated product, cis-I and trans-I, resp. After 48 h of rearing in test solns., the amt. of I accumulated in the fish ranged from 1 to 6 ppm. Most live fish contained I from 1 to 4 ppm and most dead fish contained I from 3 to 6 ppm. The biol. concn. was more prominent with cis-I than trans-I. The excretion of accumulated I was essentially completed in 4 days. When the Himedaka were pretreated in a low concn. I soln. at 1/10 of the LC50 for 48 and 168 h, the fish developed tolerance to I, and the mortality was substantially lower in an LC50 I soln. at 60 ppb; in 1 case no mortality was obsd. at all for the 48 h period. A gas chromatog. method with the use of a nonradioactive electron capture detector was developed which gives complete resoln. of cis- and trans-I with >90% recovery and the lowest detectable limit of 0.1 ng. .
